With regard to the decision of the Federal Government and the decisions on Federal State level, as of 12 December all locations of the Schönbrunn Group (Schönbrunn Palace, Sisi Museum in the Vienna Hofburg, the Vienna Furniture Museum, the Schloss Hof Estate) are open again to visitors.

Overview of the main points for the Schönbrunn Group:

  • The wearing of FFP2 masks is generally compulsory for visitors when indoors, also  admission checks for visitors for certification of vaccination against or recovery from COVID-19 (“2 G” rule). Compulsory registration for visitors 
  • Checking of the safety measures guidelines with regard to visitors (showrooms) is done by the Schönbrunn Group.
  • Registration takes place by means of smartphone or available forms. So please plan sufficient time for your groups before the start of your time slot.
  • Events for up to 25 persons without assigned seats are allowed (i.e., guided tours, workshops etc. are possible).
  • For visiting museums of the Schönbrunn Group locations, the wearing of FFP2 masks and the rule of certified vaccination against and recovery from COVID-19 (“2 G” rule) are generally compulsory. As long as the total size of the group including guide is a maximum of 25 persons.
  • Events with more than 25 persons are only possible with assigned seats (indoor max. 2,000, outdoor max. 4,000).
  • Museum gastronomy is possible in Lower Austria as of 17 December 2021, and in Vienna as of 20 December 2021

                                            Christmas Markets

Since 12 December, the Parade Court in front of Schönbrunn Palace is transformed once more until 26 December into a scintillating sea of lights. While keeping to the valid COVID 19 preventive measures (“2 G” – vaccinated, recovered – compulsory wearing of FFP2 masks, only take-away service for food and drink), around sixty exhibitors and stallholders from Austria and the neighbouring countries welcome visitors with a dazzling variety of arts & crafts and gourmet delicacies in the dreamlike setting of the palace.

The Christmas Market at the Schloss Hof Estate opens its gates on 18 and 19 December 2021. Arts & crafts, gourmet delights and Children’s World – the perfect way to get into the spirit of Christmas!

COVID 19: our top priority is the safety and health of our guests and staff. Therefore we request you respect our safety and hygiene measures – especially the compulsory wearing indoors of FFP2 masks, and the “2 G” rule – proof of vaccination/recovery.
